Dan Gray
I am the owner, and maker behind the furniture, of Old Mountain Furniture Studio. Woodworking had always been a craft I was interested in throughout my life, however I had never had the opportunity to explore it until late into my college career. I attended Wheaton College, in Chicago, where I majored in Applied Health Sciences and played football. Due to an injury, I was able to take a fifth year and needed to find a job due to a light class load. Through a personal connection I stumbled upon a custom furniture shop, where, for the next three years, I ended up apprenticing, then working full time in order to save money to start Old Mountain Furniture Studio. A name which is an ode to the place that my very first piece of furniture was delivered to, on Old Mountain Road, and to Kennesaw Mountain, a local landmark that shaped my love of the outdoors as a child.
